Decimal Bingo

Purpose: 

The purpose of this activity is to give students practise in converting decimals into fractions. This can be a quick class starter or be used as part of an independent activity.

Specific Learning Outcomes: 

convert fractions with denominators of 10 and 100 to decimals

Required Resource Materials: 
Paper and pencil
Cards made up of decimal fractions from 0.1 to 0.9 and 0.01 to 0.09
Activity: 
  1. The students draw a 3x3 grid and write in any nine common fractions with denominator 10 or 100 and with numerators 9 or less. For example:

    grid.
     
  2. As you call out decimal numbers within the given range, the students cross out the corresponding fractions on their grids.
  3. Rules follow the traditional bingo game.
