Purpose of the site:

WisWeb is the website of the Freudenthal Institute for secondary education (students of 12 to 18 years old). The site contains a wide variety of applets designed for student use.

New Zealand context:

The applets on this site will be useful to New Zealand teachers as independent practice and consolidation activities for individuals or small groups of students. There are a wide variety of applets, some more useful than others. Some of the more noteworthy include Hit the Safe, an activity where students need to identify factors and a progression of Building Houses activities that involve students in the construction of thee dimensional structures with cubes.

New and Different:

The menu provides a way for teachers to select material appropriate for their students. The applets are quick to download and reasonably simple to operate.
