Purpose of the site:

This site is one of the educational sites run by BBC. It is aimed at developing the literacy and numeracy skills of adults but contains material that will be of use to teachers of students working at stages 6 to 8 of the New Zealand Number Framework.

New Zealand context:

There is a wide variety of material on this site, some suitable for use in small group teaching situations and some more suited to independent student work. The site is structured with several types of activities within each topic, for example if working with ratios and proportions there are fact sheets, worksheets, activities, games and quizzes available for students to use.

New and Different:

The site is well set out, making it easy for teachers to find material appropriate for their students. The material is clearly written, and the progression of work within each topic means students have a variety of work available to them.
