Purpose of the Site

This site is developed by an ex-teacher in the UK to provide a variety of interactive mathematics games for students’ independent use. Suitable for students working at levels 1-4 of the NZ curriculum.

New Zealand Context:

This site provides interesting ways for students to practise skills introduced in a teaching session (working with fractions, decimals or co-ordinates). Numeracy, logic and problem-solving skills are also used. Some of the games are accompanied by worksheets, which could be utilised in small group teaching situations.

New and Different

The games are all appealing to students so will motivate and challenge. Instructions are clear, and graphics colourful.
Several of the games (Three Dart Checkout, Ghost Blasters, Tiles, and Spooky Sequences) provide good opportunities for students to practise mental strategies for performing number operations.
