Purpose of the site:

This website is part of the work of the Freudenthal Institute and it aims to support primary school teachers in their task of teaching mathematics.  

New Zealand context:

The activities on this site will be useful to New Zealand teachers as independent practice and consolidation activities for individuals or small groups of students. There are a wide variety of activities, some more useful than others. Some of the more noteworthy include Marbles on a Chain, a patterning activity, Broken Calculator, a number activity and Mini Golf an activity involving angles.

New and Different:

The activities are quick to download and reasonably simple to operate.
