Purpose of the Site

Count On! is the continuation of an UK project entitled Maths Year 2000. It’s aim is to popularise maths, making it a 'can-do' subject and promoting maths for all.  The games section of this site is suitable for students from years 2 – 8  to use independently.

New Zealand Context

Ideal for children to use as an independent activity. The games allow follow-up practice after a teaching session. Topics covered include shape matching, simple addition and subtraction problems, identification of odd and even numbers and solving tangram puzzles.

New and Different

The 14 games are really fun and quite a few are based on arcade type games to motivate and encourage children. Maths Fighter is a combination of addition and subtraction problems and space invaders with players shooting oncoming problems with the appropriate answer. Mallard Maths involves shooting down the ducks with odd / even numbers, prime numbers etc at the players choice.
