Purpose: 

This is a level 1 algebra activity from the Figure It Out series. It also has an achievement objective from the Level 1 Number knowledge substrand.

Achievement Objectives:

Achievement Objective: Communicate and explain counting, grouping, and equal-sharing strategies, using words, numbers, and pictures.
Achievement Objective: Know the forward and backward counting sequences of whole numbers to 100.

Specific Learning Outcomes: 

use "greater than", "less than", and "between" to describe number from 0 - 100

Required Resource Materials: 
FIO, Level 2-3, Algebra, Shoot the Hoop, pages 14-15
1 or 2 classmates
4 sets of digit cards (see copymasters)
a different coloured counter for each player
Activity: 

Game

This game uses digit cards and encourages the students to think about the symbols and relationships outlined in the achievement objective.
