Students who can know simple percentages equivalent to ½ or ¼ etc, and their equivalent value as decimals will find this activity very accessible.
Background
In this activity students use a percentage strip to calculate percentages. The percentage strip allows students to see the percentage as a proportion. Percentages can be used to compare fractions.
